Friendship...

Things at home seem to be coming along. Kaylee is such a joy. After church on Sunday, Grandpa and Grandma took us out for lunch to celebrate Mark's Birthday, since they had been out of town.

My best friend Carol, whom I have known since the age of 15, is losing her battle with pancreatic cancer. This is gut wrenching to see someone that I have grown up with wither away. Kaylee and I spent the day at the hospital with Carol. She was out of it pretty much the entire time. She did wake up several times and said "hey Emmie" and then later when she heard fussing, she opened her eyes and talked to her and held out her hand. I swear, this just about tore my heart out. Carol's mom and dad came to visit also and to see her dad open his arms to give me a hug, well, it was like I was hugging my daddy again. He looks a little like my dad and they even dress the same. My gosh, if he would have been wearing Brut cologne by Avon, I probably would have fell apart...We are headed back to the hospital tomorrow. If you go to church, please add Carol Stovall to your prayer list. Thank you!

Getting ready for bed...

The crib in our room has helped a little. I am not a doctor, but feel she wants to make sue that I am with her at night. It has been 4 nights now, since moving the crib into our room and she does sleep longer and better. Sometimes, I can just say "it's ok" or "mama is here" and she will go back to sleep. A neighbor and her son came over to meet Kaylee. They brought a precious moments doll that says a childs bedtime prayer and some other cute things. Kaylee really likes her doll, as you can tell from the picture...
The other picture , I took after she fell asleep.

A day at the carnival...

This morning we went to a carnival in our town. They had an Easter egg hunt, food, games and also Alpacas. Kaylee loved touching and looking at them. I am going to put our China journey in a scrapbook today. We are also going to start doing our taxes. I guess, we have put it off long enough...LOL

Trying something different...

It has been a REALLY rough time the past week or so with Kaylee's lack of sleeping. I have gotten so much advice from family and friends and I have been trying everything. I said I would not do this, but now I am. Mark and I put Kaylee's crib in our room yesterday. I have done much research on line and with an adopted child, most professionals say that these babies are use to sleeping in a room with other babies and adults moving around. Well, last night was WONDERFUL!!! Praise the Lord! I will say, I pray on a daily basis anyway, but the past week or so, I have talked to God numerous times and asking for help and strength to deal with this. HE answered my prayers. I woke up this morning and felt like a new woman. Now, wish me luck for tonight...

Sunday, Funday

Today after church, we all enjoyed our monthly "movie, popcorn and pizza"The movie was Passion of the Christ. We have seen it before, but wanted to stay and enjoy the fellowship. Dylan had a good time at his paintball party and Kaylee was so happy to see him. Tonight, before bedtime, Kaylee just laid on Dylan and looked up at him. It was so sweet. She is really starting to come out of her shell with family and friends. Kaylee even leaned into me for a kiss today. She has still not given me a kiss, but she did lean in for one.

We love Aunt Peggy...

Aunt Peggy came for the weekend, and a couple of her friends, Gwen and Eileen from Va. Beach sent Kaylee a handmade hat and poncho and a Dora the Explorer music book. The poncho and hat that Eileen crocheted is just beautiful! Kaylee just loves the book that Gwen sent. I was so surprised when Peggy told me they had sent gifts. Thank you both so much!! Kaylee is getting much better now with the antibiotic she is on. She is also starting to get on schedule a little better.

Our little girl...

Not a whole lot going on this week. Dylan has soccer practice all week, after school. Kaylee is still sick with bronchitis. Her sleep schedule is all messed up. I am going to cut out her afternoon nap and see if that will work. I have also cut down on the amount of rice cereal she gets in her bottle. We celebrated Mark's 45th Birthday over at Trudy's house. Mark and Dan share the same birthday, but Dan is 43. We had a very nice time.

Selina and Leah,together at last...

Leah has her forever family...

We will survive...

I have not have much time to add any pics because Kaylee has been sick with a bronchial infection. We now have a nebulizer(?) that we use 4 times a day. We did have another potty party the other day...Kaylee started making the "gruntng" noises and I put her on the potty and we held hands and she pooed and went pee pee. She has 2 top teeth now, that are coming in. It seems that either Kaylee or myself have been sick since we got home. We are survivors, so I am sure things will get better soon.
